Springwater Township / June 6, 2016 - Residents of Springwater have two new opportunities to apply for funding from the Township with the creation of the Community Assistance Program and the International Competition Grant.

The Community Assistance Program was created to provide financial assistance to Springwater residents in need. Examples of eligible requests include: assisting families or individuals in immediate need following a fire, death or illness; helping residents participate in programs offered by the Township; and supporting worthwhile initiatives of non-profit charitable organizations in Springwater.

The Springwater International Competition Grant was inspired by local athletes competing at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. This funding opportunity provides financial support to young athletes in Springwater competing at an international level. The grant provides a one-time contribution of $1,000 per request and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Funding for both of these grant opportunities stems from the annual Springwater Swing Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s event takes place on July 18, 2016 at the Barrie Country Club located in beautiful Springwater Township.

“We are always looking for ways to provide assistance to our residents,” says Mayor Bill French. “The Community Assistance Program provides financial assistance to those who need it most in our community, and the International Competition Grant supports our athletes as they follow their dreams and achieve success on an international stage. We are proud to offer these new opportunities to our residents.”
