Image of Midhurst Pavilion Groundbreaking Township of Springwater / September 25, 2017 – Work on the new Midhurst Pavilion can move forward following a groundbreaking held at the site at 41 Spence Avenue in Midhurst today.

The Midhurst Pavilion will be an open air 70’ x 140’ pavilion with a sports pad and rink boards located in Doran Park. The new pavilion will feature a dry sports pad for spring, summer and fall and be flooded to create a covered outdoor skating rink during the winter months.

The cost of building the structure will be $270,100 and will be shared between the Township through the tax base, development charges and community fundraising.

The Midhurst Hall Board has been actively fundraising for the pavilion and are pleased to see this project begin to take shape.  It is anticipated that the new pavilion will be a popular spot for ice skating, family picnics and community events.

“This pavilion will be a new community gathering place for the village of Midhurst,’ says Mayor Bill French. “It will be a place where residents can come together, celebrate and get active. We look forward to many special events being held here throughout the years.”

Construction on the Midhurst Pavilion is expected to be completed by spring 2018.
