Midhurst/ April 7, 2016 – The County of Simcoe is hosting two public information sessions on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Simcoe County Museum to provide residents and stakeholders with an update on the Organics Processing Facility (OPF) and Materials Management Facility (MMF) projects.

In March 2016, County Council approved the location for the co-located OPF and MMF at 2976 Horseshoe Valley Road West, Springwater. County staff will provide an overview of the projects, details about the siting process and the preferred location, as well as next steps in the project timeline. Both sessions will be a drop-in, open-house format and will not include a formal presentation.

“Now that we have approved the location we will continue to engage our residents,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “We look forward to a great turnout on April 19th as we work together to build a solution that will help increase our diversion and control our waste more responsibly for generations to come.”
