Excess Load/Size Permit
An Excess Load Permit allows companies to move oversized loads on Township of Springwater roads that exceed the Ministry of Transportation accepted limits by height, length, width or weight. An Excess Load Application Form must be submitted to the Township of Springwater Public Works Department for approval along with the prescribed fee.
Temporary Road Occupancy Permit
A Temporary Road Occupancy Permit is required for any and all activities within the municipality’s right-of-way which may occupy or close a road, including: parades, events, road construction, landscaping, trench work and driveway construction. Utility providers must submit a Temporary Road Occupancy Application for Utilities. Anyone wishing to complete construction or host an event must submit a Temporary Road Occupancy Application for Event/Construction.
All new road access points for laneways or driveways require an entrance permit. If you are paving an existing entrance there is no fee, however an entrance permit is still required. The Entrance Permit Application Form and fee must be submitted to the Public Works Department for approval.
Cut and Fill
Any works that alter the grading of a property either through the removal or importing of materials requires a Cut and Fill permit. The Cut and Fill Permit and fee must be submitted to the Public Works Department for approval.
Cut and Fill Proposed By-law
A new Cut and Fill By-law has been proposed and Council is currently seeking feedback and comments from the public. The updated by-law includes changes to securities, notification requirements, penalties, an updated fee schedule and plan requirements.
