Presentation on Environmental Study Report

Joe Mullan from Ainley Group presented a delegation to Council updating them on the Midhurst Secondary Plan Environmental Assessment, Environmental Study Report. He addressed comments made by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and answered questions from Council related to the process and timeline.

A public open house has been scheduled for June 18, 2018 at Snow Valley Resort from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, to provide residents with an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Environmental Study Report.

Updated Establishing and Regulating By-law for Springwater Fire

Council has approved an updated Establishing and Regulating By-law for Springwater Fire & Emergency Services. Fire Protection is a mandated service in Ontario and is considered a municipal responsibility. The By-law was last updated in 2004 and the new by-law has received revisions to reflect current day expectations for the operation of the Department.

Springwater Requests County to Hold Public Open House Regarding ERRC

Springwater Council is sending a formal letter to Simcoe County requesting that a public open house be held to update interested residents and stakeholders on the Environmental Resource Recovery Centre planned for 2976 Horseshoe Valley Road. The letter also requests that detailed responses be provided to concerns raised by residents throughout the process.

Springwater International Competition Grant

A Springwater youth received a grant to attend a Junior Girls U20 Ball Hockey Tournament in Nitra, Slovakia as a member of Team Canada.  This tournament is in June of 2018.
