New Gas Bar at County Road 90 and George Johnson Road
Council authorized the signing of an agreement for a new gas bar and commercial building on the northwestern corner of County Road 90 and George Johnson Road. The new one story commercial building will be added to an existing repair garage and will feature a convenience store, restaurant/food partner, drive-through and a separate commercial suite for a future tenant. 

Accessibility Policy Review and Update
The Township of Springwater Accessibility Policy has been updated. The policies are reviewed every five years to ensure they comply with current legislation and standards. The updated policy addresses the Accessible Customer Service Standard, Employment Standards, Information and Communication Standards and Transportation Standard.

2017 Springwater Swing Golf Tournament
The 11th Annual Springwater Swing Golf Tournament hosted at the Springwater Golf Course raised $31,284.86. The proceeds will be distributed to the Springwater Community Assistance Program, Physician Recruitment and other worthwhile local initiatives.

Tender Results
Coco Paving Inc. was awarded the tender for the Yonge Street South Rehabilitation and the Queen Street East Watermain at a cost of $1,109,776. Construction on the project is expected to begin by the end of September.

The Midhurst Pavilion will be constructed by Consolidated Contracting at a cost of $270,100. The initial proposal has been altered to remove refrigeration piping due to a higher than anticipated cost.

Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. was awarded the contact for consulting services for the Township’s Development Charges Background Study and By-law in the amount of $28,900.
