Residents Advised to Use Caution During Solar Eclipse Monday

Township of Springwater / August 21, 2017 –On Monday, August 21, 2017 a solar eclipse will be visible across all of North America. An eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly in front of the sun. The eclipse will be at its peak in the Springwater area around 2:30 pm.

The Township of Springwater is advising residents to take the necessary safety precautions when viewing a solar eclipse.

  • Residents are advised to never look directly at a solar eclipse
  • Keep children and pets indoors
  • Sunglasses, binoculars, telescopes, mirrors or cameras do not protect your eyes from possible permanent damage to your vision

Additionally, for the safety of all children in Springwater Day Camps, campers will be kept indoors between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:45 pm on August 21.
