Barrie Area Physician Recruitment

Representatives from Barrie Area Physician Recruitment (BAPR) presented highlights of their programming and data on current healthcare numbers in the region. The purpose of the Barrie Area Physician Recruitment Task Force is to develop strategies to train, recruit and retain physicians in the area. Since April 2016, BAPR has successfully recruited 12 new family physicians to the greater Barrie Area and brought 20 new specialist to Royal Victoria Health Centre.

County of Simcoe Hosting Statutory Public Meeting on Environmental Resource Recovery Centre

The County of Simcoe will hold a Statutory Public Meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11am at the County of Simcoe Council Chambers to consider a proposed amendment to the County of Simcoe Official Plan. The proposed amendment would facilitate the development of an Environmental Resource Centre at 2976 Horseshoe Valley Road West in the Township of Springwater.

New Industrial Complex – 42 Bertram Industrial Parkway

A new industrial complex will be constructed at 42 Bertram Industrial Parkway. The new buildings will provide an office with a maintenance shop for heavy equipment and an accessory storage building.

Mutual Assistance Agreement

The Township of Springwater will enter into a Mutual Assistance Agreement with other municipalities in Simcoe County to provide aid in the event of an emergency. A Mutual Aid Agreement already exists between fire and rescue services, however the Mutual Assistance Agreement could leverage both physical and human resources from other departments, such as public works.

Tender Results

Georgian Paving was awarded the contract for the Supply and Place of Hot Mix Asphalt in the amount of $303,707.28.

Dalton R. Lowe and Sons Construction Ltd. was awarded the tender for Aggregate Production at a cost of $205,812.10.
