Springwater Township / August 7, 2015 – Springwater Council is planning for the future by initiating a strategic review and is seeking resident input to help guide the direction of the plan.

Strategic planning is a process that involves learning, observing and dialogue. It is an exercise in self-reflection and will articulate the Township’s vision for the future. Through strategic planning Springwater will determine priorities for the next four years and develop the 2015-2018 Strategic Plan. The Plan will outline what the municipality intends to accomplish, contain key initiative and action plans that may focus on areas such as community development, service delivery and leadership.

Strategic plans are dynamic documents that are continually edited and updated as the Municipality changes and evolves. Springwater’s last strategic plan was developed in 2010 and updated as part of a mid-point review in 2012. The new Strategic Plan will provide Council and staff with guidance, direction and priorities, and will serve as a roadmap to success.

Council is taking a community-based strategic planning approach and is in the process of collecting input from residents and stakeholders. A Strategic Planning Education Session was held on July 8, 2015 to inform citizens of the undertaking and the process involved. A survey has been developed to collect feedback and is available on the Township website at Residents are also able to obtain a hard copy of the survey at the Township Administration Centre or any of the three Springwater Library Branches during regular business hours.

“We are excited to embark on this strategic planning journey,” says Mayor Bill French. “We look forward to the process of determining priorities, and to implementing the recommendations provided in the final plan. Community input is critical to the success of this Plan and I encourage you to share your feedback and become involved in the process.”
