SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP / January 25, 2016 – Springwater Township Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Jodie Player Delgado as their Chief Executive Officer, effective March 15, 2016.
Ms. Delgado is currently Children’s Librarian at Marathon Public Library in Florida, a position she has held for the past year and a half. Prior to that, she was a Teacher-Librarian, also in the Florida Keys. Ms. Delgado holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Florida State University, a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen’s University, as well as an Early Childhood Education Diploma. Ms. Delgado was raised in Springwater Township and is a graduate of Elmvale District High School.
“Springwater Township Public Library is fortunate to hire someone with Jodie’s professional expertise, as well as her familiarity with the municipality,” states Donna Kenwell, Library Board Chair. "I know the residents of Springwater will welcome her enthusiasm and knowledge as we implement our strategic plan. The Library will continue to provide the exemplary customer service and programs for which we are known, as well as implementing new initiatives. I would like to thank Reet Skelton, interim CEO, for her dedication and professionalism in showcasing the libraries as cornerstones of our communities. After her 18 months in the position and 11 years on the Board, we wish Reet a long and healthy retirement.”
Ms. Delgado, her family (husband Gabriel and children Kirby and Liam) will be residing in their home in Elmvale.
Springwater Township Public Library serves the 18,000 citizens of Springwater from three branches located in Elmvale, Midhurst and Minesing. The Library also contracts to provide library services for Tiny Township permanent and seasonal residents.
