SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP / October 28, 2015 – A group of approximately 40 business owners gathered at Snow Valley Resort to meet with Council, discuss business ideas and share a vision for the future of Springwater.
The inaugural Mayor’s Business Breakfast was held on October 28, 2015 and provided an opportunity for business owners to network with one another and provide their feedback on the business environment in Springwater.
Participants were encouraged to discuss opportunities and challenges associated with doing business in Springwater, and suggest areas of potential improvement. Good dialogue resulted in numerous ideas being openly shared.
“I was amazed at the cross-section of businesses represented here today,” said Shane Van Casteren, Operations Manager, Nicholyn Farms. “There is a lot of entrepreneurial spirit alive and well in Springwater Township.”
Hosting the event at Snow Valley was a perfect fit, as the resort is the Township’s largest private employer, hiring approximately 700 seasonal staff each year.
“Springwater is gifted with many types of businesses across a variety of sectors,” says Mayor Bill French. “The purpose of the breakfast was to garner feedback from our local business owners on how the Township can assist and support existing businesses but also attract new investment to the community.”
