Sweat and Stretch

Join this class for the best of both worlds. Start you workout with 30 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and finish off with 30 minutes of calming yoga. Please bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. The class will take place at the Anten Mills Communty Centre with Keri Robbins from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights starting July 8 and running for 7 weeks (no class on Aug. 12). Zumba Class

Pump up your workout with a Latin inspired dance party and join Laurie Holeman-Ross for Zumba Class. The class takes place in the Elmvale Community Hall from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights. Classes will start July 7 and run for 8 weeks. (Code: AF-SS-ZU-01)

Adult Gentle Yoga

These traditional Yoga classes include basic posture, breathing and relaxation which form the basis of yoga. You will burn calories, tone and relax your mind and body. Join Deb Frohman at the Midhurst Community Centre from 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. on Thursday nights, starting June 25. (Code: AF-SS-GY-01)

Adult Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures) and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body so energy can flow freely. Join Deb Frohman from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Midhurst Community Centre on Thursday nights, starting June 25. (Code: AF-SS-HY-01) 

Ladies Hockey Camp

Tired of lacing up your child's skates? Start lacing up your own with Springwater Ladies Hockey Camp. Two programs are available Level 1 - Beginner Skate  (Code: AF-WH-01) and Level 2 - Able to Skate - (Code: AF-WH-02).

Camps will operate from August 24 - 28 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm and 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Participants will receive 30 minutes of off-ice instruction, 45 minutes of on-ice instruction and 45 minutes of power skating.

Participants can expect to learn:

  • Basic hockey fundamentals (how to put on the equipment, skating, stick handling, passing, shooting)
  • Rules of the game
  • Basic positional play
  • Ice surface layout (zones of play, markings on the ice)

Full equipment is considered an asset, however the minimum equipment requirements are: shin pads, elbow pads, helmet with full cage, skates, gloves and a hockey stick.

  3. Drop off registration form and payment to a Springwater Library.
Please remember that Springwater residents are eligible to participate in any recreation program offered in the City of Barrie at the same rate as a resident of Barrie.

Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update
