The Township's first Economic Development Strategy was adopted by Council on Tuesday June 22nd. A launch and reception was held to introduce the community to the strategy.

Economic Development Focus Groups a Success!
On March 4th we held two very successful Focus Groups at the Elmvale Arena and Springwater Council Chambers. With over 40 people in attendance we received feedback and suggestions for Springwater's first Economic Development Strategy. Participants included local residents, business owners and community members and topics ranged from suggested infrastructure improvements to local business practices. In addition to these focus groups, the project Consultants will be contacting 25 key stakeholders from the community as well as all members of Council for individual interviews.
The next step of the Strategy will see our Consultants analyze the Focus Group information, and complete a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). From there development of the final Strategy will begin to take place. Once the Economic Development Strategy is complete, it will be shared with all members of the community through a public information process (which is currently in the planning stage).

The Township of Springwater has just rolled out its fresh new logo, and is now embarking on its first economic development strategy for the community of Springwater.
The Strategy will allow the Township to identify strengths, weaknesses and potential opportunities in our business community, in order to develop and strengthen our local economy.
Once complete, it will identify the priorities and strategic direction for the Township.
As part of this effort we would like to hear from our local residents, business owners, and industry representatives. All answers will remain confidential and results will only be published in aggregate form.
The survey should take 10 minutes in total to complete.
