On July 1, Springwater's Elmvale Community Arena was announced as one of the top 20 finalists in the TSN Kraft Celebration Tour, and would be competing against Brighton Ontario for the chance to win a $25,000 facility refresh, a live TSN Sports Centre broadcast and a community party.

Fox outfoxes hunter

A fox that was injured by an arrow on June 17th has been rescued and transported to the Midland Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre for treatment.

Township adopts first Economic Development Strategy

The Township of Springwater adopted its first Economic Development strategy on June 22nd at a launch attended by community business owners, residents and others interested in economic development in the Township.

It has come to the attention of the Township of Springwater that residents have been receiving calls from a market research group, claiming to be conducting a survey on behalf of the Township of Springwater about the upcoming election.

Council lends a hand for Community Living Huronia and Ronald McDonald House Charities

Springwater Township's Mayor Tony Guergis will once again join Deputy Mayor Tony Hope, Councillor Reg Cowan and Councillor Linda Collins for McHappy Day at the Elmvale McDonald's to help raise money and awareness for Community Living Huronia and to help support the expansion of Toronto's Ronald McDonald House.

A temporary clip-on light being used as permanent closet lighting caused a small fire this past Monday on Wilson Drive, after an item of clothing was left on top of the light.

The Springwater Fire Department responded to a fire on Sunday April 4th, 2010 on Finlay Mill Road.

The Springwater Township Council meeting of April 6th had some younger audience members in attendance.

The ability for the Township of Springwater to ensure residents are provided with Fire and Emergency services was further reinforced with the addition of 14 new firefighters. The graduating class of 2010 were presented with their graduation certificates and Township of Springwater Crest pin.

House Fire in Springwater Township

The Springwater Fire Department responded to a house fire on April 8th, 2010 in the area or County Road 90 and Sunnidale Road which left the house destroyed, and caused approximately $150,000 in damage.

April 16 FCM's Green Municipal Fund Supports the Township of Springwater's LEED Silver Administration Centre

Kathy Jeffery, member of the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and councillor for the Town of Collingwood, Ont., today announced Green Municipal FundTM (GMF) loan and grant contributions for the Township of Springwater. The township put the $2,300,000 in funding toward construction of a new energy and cost efficient building to consolidate its administrative services and council and committee facilities.
