Voting Methods

Election Day is Monday, October 22, 2018. Internet and Telephone Voting will take place from Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10 am until Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

Vote by Internet or Telephone

Internet and telephone voting will be open from Friday, October 12, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am to the end of Election Day on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00 pm. Constituents can vote by internet or telephone from the comfort of their own home, office or any other place with a telephone or internet connection. Free internet access is available at all branches of the Springwater Public Library or the Township Administration Centre during regular business hours.

Instructions on how to vote by internet or telephone, as well as, a unique ID and PIN are contained within Voter Information Letters which were distributed via Canada Post at the end of September.

Vote in Person

Anyone wishing to vote by traditional paper ballot may do so in person on Election Day only (Monday, October 22, 2018) from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at any of the following locations:

Township Administration Centre
2231 Nursery Road

Minesing Community Centre
2347 Ronald Road

Elmvale Arena (Springwater Room)
14 George Street

Identification Required to Vote

In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, all eligible electors are required to provide photo identification in order to be issued a ballot at the Voting Stations. To vote, you will need your “Voter Identification Card” (which you will receive in the mail), and in addition acceptable identification. Your Voter Identification Letter cannot be used as identification, however – it will help speed you through the voting process.

Regulations under the Municipal Elections Act require that you provide:

  • One (1) piece of ID with your name and qualifying address – for example your Ontario Driver’s Licence

Additions and revisions to the Voters' List can be made at the  Township Administration Centre during regular office hours or at the following Voter Help Centres outside of regular office hours:

Saturday, October 20, 2018 & Sunday, October 21, 2018
